Communication in the Relationship Transformation Era

We are in the “Relationship Transformation Era.” How would you design a relationship for the next 25 years? What can be done to decrease the divorce rate, reduce the number of single female parents and enhance our ability to relate to our partners? We're addressing six ways you can do this and they include selection, acceptance, communication, education, commitment and change in consciousness.

Today, we will talk a bit about communication...

Communication

Most people focus on talking; very few are authentic and active listeners.

We can only hear through our biases and interpretations of life.

We see and understand life in our own unique way; no two people see life exactly same way, not even twins.

It takes work and skill to be a heartfelt listener who is more interested in validation and empathy than interpretation and judgment.

Acceptance - Part Two of Designing a Relationship for the 2010 Era

Last time we talked about Selection - one of the 6 ways to design a relationship for the 2010 era. Today is # 2...

Acceptance

We see life differently; we're always attempting to show our partners how life looks from our vantage point.

The problem is our partners can't see our lives with their glasses, most of them can only see their worlds with their own glasses.

The solution is to have someone who is willing to see you with your glasses.

Anyone who is interested and committed to seeing, and hearing your story, viewpoint, or interpretation of life is a gift.

Designing a Relationship - Selection

We believe women will improve their selection process out of necessity and their desire to decrease the number of failed relationships.

Women have the ability to say yes or no to every relationship and since men are not the emotional gatekeepers, it is up to women to change the future of relationships.

Women are committed to having successful relationships, which is demonstrated in their attendant in seminars, churches and personal growth and development workshops.

They are the first to suggest therapist, counseling, or coaching.

In comparing a relationship to a house, men are focused on the mortgage and maintenance of the house, while women are focused on the interior aesthetics, or the details of the home.

It is suggested that people will live to be 125 years old; the average person will get married and divorced three times before having a successful relationship.

The average age of a person who will find true love...75 years old!

In the future, relationship partners will be sorted, selected, and delivered via the Internet or ordered on EBay.

What can be done to decrease the divorce rate, reduce the number of single female parents and enhance our ability to relate to our partners?

The six ways include selection, acceptance, communication, education, commitment and change in consciousness.

Are You Communicating Unconsciously?

Growing up, men were unconsciously programmed to be more insensitive, destructive, driven, direct and in charge. These qualities are good for football, but not for a healthy relationship.

Women and men need to be equally balanced in male and female energy. A man can be more feminine, but he has to have a male-oriented woman who enjoys paying the bills and making decisions.

Examples of the unconscious communicating with us are reflected in our dreams and images. It communicates in an unconscious language like intuition, ESP, visions, daydreaming, unexplainable hunches, and synchronistic events.

Our everyday conversations come from our unconscious; try and remember what you are saying, the words you used and how long you talked.

We are unconscious about how many times our hearts beat and how many breaths we take in a day. How many times did you bat your eyes today? What was the temperature today? Who was the fifth person you talked to today?

We are unconscious human beings, living an unconscious life built on our experiences from the past. The past will predict your future, unless you are willing to live with fear and failure.
